“Merchant of Death” Picked Up In Thailand

The one some have called “the merchant of death” was recently apprehended in Bangkok, Thailand where he may have run an international base of arms dealing to terrorists.   Viktor Bout is suspected of supplying weapons to the Taliban and Al Qaeda and of pouring huge arms shipments into civil wars in Africa with his own private air fleet.

Over the years, this guy and associates operated an arms bazaar, selling guns, ammunition, even tanks and helicopters in deals that inflamed conflicts in Afghanistan, Angola, Congo, Liberia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone and Sudan.

He is said to be the inspiration for the movie, “Lord of War” , with Nicholas Cage.

It’s interesting to me that he was picked up in Thailand.  Is this where all of the low lifes go to lay low?  Remember John Mark Karr and most recently, Christopher Paul Neil

What is it that draws them there?  It’s a good thing the Thai authorities are cooperative so that those who are running from the crimes they committed can be caught and brought to justice.  Keep nabbing them Thailand.
