Destiny in a Song
Have you ever listenend to a song and really connected with the message? Every once in awhile, I’ll sense God working on me through the songs I know. You can ask my wife how much I sing every day…loud and off key too! What are some lines that you feel define some aspect of your life right now? Anything come to mind?
Here are a few for me:
In the blink of an eye that is when I’ll be closer to you than I’ve ever been, time will fly but until then, I’ll embrace every moment I’m given, there’s a reason I’m alive for the blink of an eye. So, what am I waiting for, what am I waiting for…-Mercy Me
So long status quo. I think I just let go. You make me want to be brave. The way it always was is no longer good enough. You make me want to be brave. I’ve never known a fire that didn’t begin with a flame. Every storm will start with just a drop of rain. But if you believe in me that changes everything. So long, I’m gone…-Nichole Nordeman
There’s a new generation arising, A nameless, faceless, placeless tribe, All they fear is the fear of the Lord, All they hear is the Lion of Judah…-Jason Upton
Everlasting…Your light will shine when all else fades. Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame. And the cry of my heart Is to bring You praise, From the inside out, Lord my soul cries out…-Hillsong United
These are just a few that I can think of right now. What are some lyrics that you have connected with in the past, or connect with now, that speak to you about your life and destiny? I would love to hear from your life and perspective!

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I one was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see. This song has always spoke to my heart, even before I was saved and is so much more special to me. As God forgives all and once your eyes are open to the kingdom of God you can no longer pretend not to hear his word or see him!
I can only imagine. Surrounded by your glory what will my heart feel? Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still. Will I sing hallejuah, will I be able ot speak at all? I can can only imagine! This one always speaks to the joy and awe I know I will feel once I meet Jesus in heaven!
Good stuff! I like those songs too!
This is kind of long, but this is something I blogged a few weeks ago:
The song I’ve been listening to lately (listening to meaning on repeat) is “My Romance” by Christ for the Nations. Here are the lyrics:
My Romance
Rick Pino
Verse:
Look at the way the flowers bloom for You
They want to show You their beauty Lord
Running waters dance, You and I romance
Chorus:
Unto You be all the glory.
Unto You be all the glory (repeat)
Bridge:
The angels dance around You
The earth it sings about You
Open up the heavens Lord
Let Your Kingdom come to earth
my praises all surround you
my soul can’t dance without you
open up the heavens Lord
let Your kingdom come to earth
Granted, you have to hear the song to get the “true” effect, but it has caused me to look at myself. The flowers bloom to show God their beauty. Lord, I want to bloom so that the beauty you have made in me can show. God, I want to dance like the rivers for you. Uninhibited, not frozen as in winter, but rapid, beautiful dancing as in summer. Even the angels are dancing for you! Your word says I have more authority than angels and am “higher” than the angels, so why should I limit myself in the amount of joy you want to show me?
Everything I do Lord I want to be for YOUR glory, not mine. You are my romance, so why do I fight you so much? The earth in all of it’s nature is your design and it sings about you. The birds sing to you EVERY morning! Please help me to remember to sing to you every morning. Remind me to notice the pieces of heaven you have given to us here on earth.
Father, I thank you for the love you have shown me, even though I fail you and feel that I make all the wrong choices and disappoint you. I praise you for showing me your heart of forgiveness and for letting MY SOUL DANCE FOR YOU!
Good stuff Karen. Thanks for sharing this.
