Going to My Cave

We just made it in from a long week of visiting and traveling family.  I am heading off to a friend’s farm house in order to hopefully knock out my 6 college papers and get ready for preaching this Sunday at Freedom House.  I have thoughts of coming out of that place like Matt Foley, motivational speaker…all hopped up on coffee and raring to go.  LOL!  (Some of you will get that, others can just move along ;-) ).

I tend to get alot done when I am in hyper focused mode, so I’m hoping that four full days in a rural place with no TV or internet will give me the momentum I need to finish my school work before the blitz that’s coming in the fall.  I’m looking forward to this time, getting a chance to hang out and listen too.

What about you?  Do you ever feel like you need to go away and get alone sometimes?  Do you get more done this way?

    John ,

You are definetly my son. I was just thinking yesterday that I needed to get away to get some focus. We are all so busy with day to day things that sometimes it just helps to get a way and be silent . You also have that trait of working well under pressure from me. I will pray for you and know God will bless you and you will have the focus you need to get things done.

    I love you!

Get away? Be alone? WHAT’S THAT!?!?!?! And I completley get the Matt Foley reference and I’m laughing so hard picturing you in that jacket and tie preaching. HILARIOUS! Good luck in your cave!

    Hey John,
Oh how I long everyday for just a short time of silence!!! I am at the beach with 6 of the 7 kids and no Larry! I have 5 articles due the week I get back and I look at the ocean and dream of escaping to a quiet place to write uninterrupted!
How is this a vacation! No matter what, we are blessed beyond belief. See you Sunday.
    Michelle
