Back From the Cave…
Well, I didn’t make it the whole four days, but I did more like 2 days. Half a day was spent just getting there and back. 4 papers, 2 Book Reports, and a Sunday message later, I’m back with the family! I only have one paper left, but my brain was shot by the time I woke up this morning. One book report was 11 pages typed! Most of the other papers were about 7-9 pages. I’m glad to have the bulk behind me and I am excited about the message for Sunday.
I have a full grown Grizzly Adams man cave beard out of the deal. My clothes are wrinkled, no product in the hair, flip flops, and my wife says I smell like I’ve “been away from people for awhile.” Don’t worry I will clean up before Sunday morning.
Being in that house with no access to TV, radio, or the internet was a unique experience. It’s amazing how much I wanted the noise at first, but then I got used to it. The silence really helped me to concentrate and get things done. Yesterday I literally sat down after breakfast and barely got up from the table until 11 at night. I think I pulled a muscle in my back from typing!
This morning I woke up with a splitting headache. I was done. My limit had been reached. I will just have to take on that last paper next week. The cave was good, but it’s good to be back.
