About
“I am captivated by the the responsibility we have for our generation. I hope that this blog will challenge, inspire, and motivate you to play your part in God’s global mission, locally and to the uttermost ends of the Earth”
Ok, so what else?
Well, I love being a dad to two awesome young men of God in the making. I love my wife and I love our life in Asia among the Thai/Isaan people. I like things done right and right away which doesn’t make my life here any easier. It’s the exact place that people like me come to die to self. I’m not always jumping for joy about this, but I am working on embracing it more and more every day.
I have a strong passion to communicate and express the of the worth of the Kingdom of God and the reality of the present uneven distribution of the Gospel in the world today. I like expressing myself through whatever tools I can figure out how to use and bringing other people along with me in the journey. For fun, I like meeting new people, talking about what is going on in their life, and enjoying a good international meal/coffee together.
I’ve never swung a golf club in my life which some people tell me is a sin. Maybe you could teach me? I don’t follow sports teams of any kind but it’s not really because I don’t like sports. I just don’t seem to have the time, interest, and energy to ride the roller coaster every year. My focus and passion is the Kingdom of God and what it will take to see Matthew 24:14 come to pass in our generation. I live with a strong sense that the time is short and that we must work while there is still day.
Thanks for being interested enough to read this. Let me know a little about you. Looking forward to it!

Blessings to you John, and to your family. I appreciate your heart, and love your page of mission’s quotes. If you ever make it to India, let us know…”The fields are white…!”
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year John. Although you did not know it, I’ve been reading your articles whenever I got some time. You are a thoughtful writer. I will be leaving to go to Thailand 1/18/2008 -1/30/2008 for a Real Estate certification, but I’m sure I will realize the Lord’s work in the process. I know Thailand is on your heart, so I would love to discuss my trip upon my return. Look forward to speaking with you. ..God Bless!!!
Hi John,
You have a great website! Please send me an e-mail about your decision to go to Thailand. Hope you, Jacqueline and the boys are doing fine.
Our love,
Sandy and Elsie
Greetings from Thailand,
Okay, so the weird thing is I type “Whatever happened to Paul Cain?” into google and your site came up. Coincidence?! I don’t think so. Our family has been living in Thailand for 2 years already. We initially came to help set up an HIV/AIDS orphanage in our city(Chonburi), but now have stayed for another year trying to adopt one of the little babies out of the orphanage. At this point we aren’t sure how much longer we’ll be here, but our little fellow is originally from Khorat and we are planning to travel there again in the near future. We would love to connect with your friends who live there.
I have throughly searched your blogs on Thailand and even the Freedom House site. Sounds like you are a part of an amazing church. We completely understand the not wanting to jump ahead of God. These past 2 years have been full of challenge and hard times but God has been so faithful day by day. The intimacy we have gained has been worth every step.
Anyway, you can also check out our website(which hasn’t been updated in a long time), but it’s http://www.aidsorphanage.org.
We originally come from the city where Todd Bentley lives and has his ministry. We seriously considering sending our 16 year-old daughter, 14 year-old son and my husband to Lakeland to catch some fire and bring it back!! God send it to Thailand!
Hello Pastors how are you doing lately I sent an email I hope you can review it, we meet at Hope for Guatemala last year for Festival Esperanza. Well Its great to see you here we hope to hear from you soon.
My best regards
Vicky

I saw your shout out on our new box on our blog and I just wanted to tell you that I was encouraged by your “shout out”…reinforcements! PRAISE GOD! Let me know if I can ever help with anything…I came over with my 2 year old son and one of the toughest things was adjusting to all the attention that he got…some good and some bad. I’m excited for you guys and I’m excited for Thailand to have you!! What city are you going to be in? We’re in Chiang Mai until the end of December and then we’re going down to Naratiwat. It’s a pleasure to meet you!
God bless you!!
I have just come across your Mission Minded Page, “We Do It to Recieve a Crown” article, while looking on Google Images for a picture that would relate to a poem that I recently wrote entitled, “A Crown Awaits You”.
I am an unemployed single parent working on a voluntary basis for my church but lately have been feeling that all my work, effort and sacrifice has been wasted and I was struggling with feelings of discouragement and regret for every voluntaring.
BUT GOD! in His infinite mercy, through inspiration of the Holy Spirit, gave me a poem that encouraged me, and reading your article and the added scriptures has impressed on my spirit that I should not give up, but continue to do the work that God has placed before me to do.
So this message is to say THANK YOU and continue to do the work God has called you to do. God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory… Be encouraged and know that A Crown Awaits You!
